I spent over $200,000 to get my MBA

$200k is a shit ton of moolah. You can do a lot of good, personally and for the community, if you have $200K to spare. Going to a Prestigious MBA school was important to me. Attending the finest school in the world for Marketing was a bucket list item for me. So, I had to do it. It is depressing, nevertheless, to drop that kinda dough on education. Here is how it breaks down:

Tuition per semester: $27,000

Number of Semesters: 6 (Fall, Spring & Summer X 2)

Total Tuition: $162,000 ($27,000 X 6)

Total expenses on traveling, food: $20,000

Total expenses on socializing: $25,000

Total:  $207,000 approx.

In case you were wondering, socializing is an essential part of the MBA life. It makes you outgoing and helps you bond closely with you cohort. “Rage face together.. For life ..  Forever” was our mantra. (Raging Face is urban speak for drinking and partying)

That said, the numbers above are hard money spent, not factoring in lost wages, opportunities, times etc. Many websites count all that when quoting you the true cost of attending an MBA program. But, I don’t think it is proper to count all that towards the capital outlay just to inflate the numbers.
